A Dedication to Harry Browne
This campaign is dedicated to the memory of Harry Browne (1933–2006)

Harry Browne was a cofounder of Downsize DC and the Libertarian candidate for the presidency in 1996 and 2000. He authored dozens of articles and several books, notably How I Found Freedom in an Unfree World (1973) and The Great Libertarian Offer (2000), the latter of which is the blueprint from which many of the positions put forth on this website are drawn.
From reading his books and articles and watching him in videos online, I feel as though I knew Harry Browne personally. He had a gift for the written word, with the ability to articulate ideas with great clarity and precision. He was a true champion of the principles of personal freedom and a towering icon of individual liberty. And you’ve probably never heard of him.
It grieves me to know that America has passed up a leader like Harry Browne for the sort of charlatans we live with in office today.
Admittedly seldom are occasions when I look around and find great inspiration in what I see, but the writings of Harry Browne are examples of such things- so much that I have been compelled to action, the results of which you’re now reading. Below are links to where you can see what I’m talking about firsthand. I would urge anyone interested in a real patriot’s perspective on rights, freedom, and the state, to spend a couple of minutes reading a few of the articles. I hope you’ll find the information as moving as I have.
